RAWALPINDI, May 20 (NNI): Three soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom on Saturday while bravely thwarting terrorists’ attack on the Security Forces’ Post in Zarghoon, Marget area of Balochistan while a terrorist was sent to hell during the ensuing fire exchange.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on May 20, early in the morning, a group of terrorists attacked a Security Forces Post established in Zarghoon, Marget Area of Balochistan.

It added that the Post had recently been established to help check extortion efforts targeting Coal mines in the area. The troops on the Post had retaliated readily to the fire raid thereby, pushing back the terrorists.

Based on the follow up Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) effort, likely hideout of fleeing terrorists has been identified in nearby mountains and a deliberate blocking and sanitisation operation has been launched, the ISPR said.

Currently, the operation was progressing well and security forces were maintaining pressure to deny terrorists escape from the area. Security Forces, in step with the nation, remained determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, the ISPR said.

Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a security forces checkpost in Zarghoon, Balochistan.

In a statement issued on Saturday, he expressed deep grief over the loss of three officials in the attack and extended his condolences to the families of the martyrs.

The minister offered special prayers for the martyrs, emphasising their sacrifice and the bravery of the security forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism. He affirmed that the sacrifices made by the martyrs would not be in vain and reassured the nation that the scourge of terrorism would be completely eradicated in the near future.

The minister commended the resolute actions of the security forces in their confrontation with the terrorists. He paid tribute to the officers who fearlessly confronted the attackers, putting their own lives at risk to ensure the safety of others.

The minister expressed admiration for the soldiers who sent the terrorists to their demise without hesitation or regard for their personal safety.

In addition, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack. He paid tribute to the martyred jawans of Pakistan army including sepoy Zameer Ahmad, Sepoy Mudassar and Lance Naik Abdul Qadeer, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

He said that the entire nation saluted the sacrifices of their shuhada. He prayed for the high ranks of shuhada and expressed condolences with the bereaved families. He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

Moreover, Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed his grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of three soldiers in the attack.

The PPP Chairman condoled with the bereaved family members and said that his heart went out to them. He said that the sacrifices of the soldiers for the country were exemplary. He also paid tribute to the soldiers and said that those, who challenge the writ of the state would be dealt with iron hands. NNI
