ISLAMABAD , Jun 20 (NNI) : In an official statement issued by the Cabinet Division, the government has announced a three-day holiday in celebration of Eid ul Adha, which will take place on June 29 (Thursday).
According to the announcement, offices following a six-day workweek will enjoy a break starting from June 29 and lasting until July 1.
Prime Minister Approves Eid-ul-Azha Holidays: Offices to Close for Three Days
The Prime Minister has granted approval for public holidays in honor of Eid-ul-Azha. Offices adhering to a five-day workweek will be closed on June 29 and 30 (Thursday and Friday), while offices with a six-day workweek will remain closed from June 29 to July 1 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday).
Eid-ul-Adha Celebrations Confirmed for June 29: Government Announces Holidays
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, headed by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, has officially announced the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon in Pakistan. As a result, Eid ul Adha will be celebrated nationwide on June 29 (Thursday).
Testimonies regarding the moon sighting were received from various cities, including Karachi and Lahore, during the committee’s meeting. Representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, SUPARCO, Department of Meteorology, and Ministry of Science and Technology were also present at the meeting, along with inputs from zonal committees of Ruet-e-Hilal in their respective cities.
