ISLAMABAD, Jul 15 (NNI): According to details, following the special order of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has issued special instructions to strengthen the implementation of traffic laws, focusing particularly on heavy and public transport vehicle drivers who violate designated routes, time schedules, seat belt regulations, and lane discipline, a public police relations officer said.
He said that the aim is to ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations, maintain road discipline, and prevent accidents in Islamabad.
He directed to take strict legal action against violators of traffic laws in order to ensure compliance with the law, maintaining road discipline, and keeping Islamabad free from accidents.
Islamabad Capital Police have formed a dedicated squad to carry out operations across the city, he added. Additionally, the Islamabad Capital Police Education Wing is actively raising awareness about the dangers of mobile phone usage while driving and violations of designated routes and schedules on different highways.
Moreover, CTO Islamabad addressing Zonal DSPs and Beat Inspectors, specially emphasized on seat belt and lane violations by drivers of heavy and public transport vehicles who violate their designated routes and time schedules, he emphasized. He directed that traffic laws, especially regarding seat belt and lane violations, should be enforced without any exceptions. NNI
