KARACHI, Jul 31 (NNI): Three names are being considered for the slot of interim chief minister of Sindh which include two former bureaucrats and one ex-judge.

According to sources, the Sindh government is considering on different names for the chief minister slot. They are mulling on the names of two retired bureaucrats and one retired judge.

The current Sindh chief minister will finalize the name after the consultation with the opposition leader in Sindh Assembly.

Besides interim CM slot, the names for 12-member interim Sindh cabinet are also being pondered.

Sources said that the consultation process will be completed in the current week.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Thursday suggested the possibility of dissolving the provincial legislature on August 11 to facilitate the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by providing it three months to hold polls.

Meanwhile, the session of the Sindh Assembly has been summoned on August 2 to bring laws about the caretaker setup in the house.

Sources said that important laws will be approved by the Sindh Assembly and legislation will be enacted regarding the caretaker provincial cabinet.

The tenure of the National Assembly and provincial assemblies is set to expire on August 12 and meetings are under way between the coalition partners for the caretaker set-up.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also said yesterday that he would dissolve the National Assembly a few days before the expiry of his government’s term on Aug 12, which would allow the ECP to conduct polls within 90 days.

The premier said he had no intention to delay elections not even on the issue of the new census. NNI
