ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (NNI): In compliance with the Supreme Court of Pakistan order, the National Accountability Bureau keeps submitting the records of erstwhile shelved corruption references to the accountability courts.
The anti-graft watchdog will submit the record of more than 20 references to the Rawalpindi accountability court today.
The record of 13 NAB references has been presented in the Rawalpindi accountability court, while the court has summoned the complete records of the remaining 9 references on Saturday. All references will be re-opened on submission of complete 22 reference records.
The court has fixed Sept 22 (tomorrow) for hearing the request to open the references and has issued notices to the accused.
NAB Prosecutor Sardar Tahir said they would submit the records of all the remaining 9 references today.
On the other hand, the process of submitting the record of 80 references under hearing in the accountability courts of Islamabad will continue today. The record of 26 references was submitted to the accountability court by NAB yesterday.
According to sources, the record of more than 20 references is likely to be submitted today.
Among the references submitted yesterday, the record of references against former prime ministers Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was also included.
Apart from this, the record of Farzana Raja, Rubina Khalid and other references was also submitted to the court. The court has called the accused by issuing summons.
NAB is also likely to submit the Toshakhana reference records against Yousuf Raza Gilani, Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari.
Sources said that notices will be issued after checking the records submitted by the anti-corruption watchdog. NNI
