ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (NNI): Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa has said that the concept of adjourning cases in the Supreme Court of Pakistan should be considered to be over from now on.

While giving important observations in a land transfer case, the CJP said that the concept of adjourning cases should be removed completely from minds.

“There are too many cases pending in the Supreme Court. In any case, parties will be issued a notice at the first hearing while the verdict will be pronounced at the next,” the CJP said.

“Through this case, this is a message for all that there will be no adjournment of cases. It happens in other courts that time is given for submission of documents,” he added.

“The Supreme Court is the last court where the judgments of all cases are already recorded,” he stated.

The lawyer had sought time from the court to submit the documents in a land transfer case. NNI
