ISLAMABAD, Mar 29 (NNI): President Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday that the people of Pakistan are standing with Palestine.
Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed Jawad Rabei called on President Zardari in Islamabad. The Palestinian envoy had apprised President Zardari of the Israeli atrocities in the Gaza Strip.
On this occasion, President Zardari vowed to raise the voice of the people of Palestine on every platform. “The people of Palestine are valiant and have been struggling for a long time against the Israeli occupation,” he added.
President Zardari asked the international community to ensure the protection of Palestinian citizens.
“The international community should play its role in providing humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,” President Zardari added.
Moreover, separately, Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam called on President Zardari.
On this occasion, the president resolved to boost further bilateral ties with Iran. “There is a wide margin to promote economic cooperation in the various sectors between the two countries,” President Zardari added.
President Zardari stressed the need for joining hands with Iran in a bid to overcome the joint challenges faced by both countries.
The Iranian envoy felicitated President Zardari on assuming the office of president. NNI
