ISLAMABAD, Mar 09 (NNI): Bad news for those gullible citizens who have fallen prey to JazzCash and EasyPaisa fraud as the Federal Investigation Agency has decided to stop investigations into these scams.
As per details, the FIA law wing has barred its concerned zones from taking action against accused involved in swindling public in the names of JazzCash and EasyPaisa.
JazzCash and EasyPaisa are commonly used as mobile wallets through which people transfer money and pay bills in just a few clicks. But this digital payment facility is not far from the reach of the fraudsters.
The scammers call or text the owners of Easypaisa/JazzCash accounts from unknown numbers informing them that their account has been blocked. Afterwards, they ask for a code sent to the registered phone number. They then inform the user that his account has been restored. However, using this code they gain access to his account and con his money.
However, as a standard practice, the FIA keeps warning all account holders that they should not share their account information as well as any passwords including pin codes and OTPs with the person calling from unknown numbers. Such frauds are very common in Pakistan. NNI
