RAWALPINDI, May 31 (NNI): Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed claimed that three people have been tasked to kill him.
As per details, AML chief Sheikh Rasheed said that his life is under threat and three people have been given the task to kill him. He urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of this matter.
In a video message, the former interior minister said that he is neither on good terms with former SAPM Shehzad Akbar nor he was present in any of his agendas. He said that he has no information on the Al-Qadir trust case, he would prefer death over becoming a false witness, the AML chief added.
Sheikh Rasheed revealed that 70-80 people raided his F-7 Islamabad residence, took my staff to an unknown location and vandalized the residence.
He said that his mother’s home was also damaged. Why his life has been made hard when he is not involved in any crime?
Earlier today, Awami Muslim League chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed claimed when he was not in his house in Islamabad, the police raided around 3 am on Wednesday and “The raiding police team tortured my staff and broke their arms.
Sheikh Rasheed also claimed that police took away his two vehicles and licenced weapons. Following the May 9 violence, the police have swung into action against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders, workers and supporters.
In another video message posted on microblogging website Twitter, Sheikh Rashid has described Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial as the only hope for the nation and warned that the country would witness civil war if the Supreme Court did not make decisions according to the law and the constitution.
Mr Rashid, addressing the chief justice, said he was appealing to him for the first time. Filth was being spread in the state and politics, he opined and claimed that three persons were assigned with the task to eliminate him.
He added that around 80 to 90 people had attacked his house early in the morning and whisked away his personal staff to some undisclosed location. “I served as minister for 16 occasions. I am ready to appear in person [before NAB or any other body] if corruption is found in these 16 ministries.”
Mr Rashid said how an ordinary person could survive if there wasn’t rule of law and constitution in the country, urging the chief justice to take notice of the situation as, according to the AML head, great injustices were being committed in the country.
After Almighty Allah, the people were looking towards the Supreme Court, he remarked and added if even the chief justice did not make decisions as per constitution [and] law then the country would face destruction. “Therefore, it is your responsibility to take notice of this [state of affairs],” Mr Rashid asked the chief justice.
