LAHORE, Jun 19 (NNI): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore rejected the police’s request for the physical remand of PTI leaders Khadija Shah and Shabnum Jahangir in the Askari Tower attack case and sent her to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
ATC judge Abhar Gul Khan conducted the hearing.
“Khadija Shah was present at the scene of the attack on Askari Tower,” the prosecutor told the court. “Tell about the presence of Khadija Shah. Was she present in the Liberty Market,” the court said.
“There are statements of Khadija Shah on social media,” the prosecutor further told the court.
“How can Khadija Shah be present in two places at a time?” Khadija’s lawyer said.
“I was arrested at Jinnah House. I did not go to the Liberty Market on May 9 the whole day,” Khadija Shah said.
“The whole crowd was at Siddique Centre when the call to protest was made. I was at home when the corps commander house was attacked,” Khadija Shah said.
The court, however, rejected the police’s request for physical remand of Khadija Shah and sent her to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
The court also rejected request for physical remand of another PTI leader Shabnum Jahangir and instead sent her to prison on 14-day judicial demand. NNI
