ISLAMABAD, (NNI): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to arrest former Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar, according to informed sources.

The NAB has requested Chairman Lt-Gen (r) Nazir Ahmed Butt to issue the arrest warrants for Usman Buzdar.

It has been decided to apply the new ordinance to the former Punjab chief minister according to which he can be arrested during the inquiry.

Usman Buzdar has not appeared before the NAB Lahore for the 14th time despite being summoned.

Usman Buzdar’s lawyer told the NAB that he could not appear before NAB Lahore, but the NAB refused to receive an answer from him.

It is to be noted here that a case of assets beyond means, appointments and transfers, and irregularities in contracts was under hearing in the NAB against Usman Buzdar.

The case was against Usman Buzdar and his family for building more than Rs9 billion worth of assets.

A case of wheat export was also under investigation against Usman Buzdar. NNI
