ISLAMABAD, Sep 12 (NNI): A court in Islamabad has approved bail to Bushra Bibi, former first lady and wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, in Al-Qadir Trust case.
Bushra Bibi’s lawyer Latif Khosa submitted the pre-arrest bail on Tuesday which was accepted by the court, ordering the former first lady to submit surety bonds of Rs100,000.
The court also issued notices to the respondents for September 26 in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
The court also extended Bushra Bibi’s interim bail to September 26 in Toshakhana case.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday adjourned a plea against the bugging of former first lady Bushra Bibi’s calls and harassment of her by the institutions till September 18.
The court heard the plea against an audio leak of Bushra Bibi and Zulfi Bukhari and clubbed it with Najamus Saqib’s plea against phone tapping that was already pending in the court.
“We are taking notice of your petition. We will hear it with another case of the same nature,” Justice Babar Sattar of the IHC said to PTI’s lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa.
“Khosa Sahib! What petition do you have filed?” he asked. “Unfortunately, our phones are being bugged constantly,” Sardar Latif Khosa said to the IHC judge.
“[But] phones of all are being bugged. What’s the big deal in it? Objection to your petition is that you have not challenged any order,” Justice Babar Sattar remarked.
“Police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) are continuously harassing Bushra Bibi,” Latif Khosa said to the court.
“You have to assist the court on two aspects. Assist the court on the legality of phone tapping. The source of information cannot be asked from the law enforcement agencies. Also, provide judicial assistance to the court on the aspect of Law of Witness at the upcoming hearing,” the IHC judge remarked.
“The FIA should be restrained from harassing Bushra Bibi till the next hearing,” Latif Khosa demanded.
“I will pass an order that I can execute. Harassment is such a broad term that tomorrow you will bring a contempt petition,” Justice Babar Sattar said.
The court then adjourned the hearing of the case till September 18. NNI
