SWABI, Dec 20 (NNI): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has stressed the need to focus on promotion of science and technology to bring the country at par with the developed nations.
Addressing the students and faculty members of the Institute during his visit to the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Science and Technology in Topi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wednesday, the Prime Minister said the process of creativity is ongoing and we have to respond to it.
The Prime Minister lauded the services of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Science and Technology in imparting quality education to the students. He also commended the great work done by the pioneers and all the predecessors and current faculty members of the Institute for making it as one of the modern institution of the country.
The prime minister recalled that when he visited GIKI for the first time in 1990s, he was much impressed by the not only the infrastructure of the institute but also the quality of education and energy of students. “Allah Almighty created human being for a noble cause. The ability to think, the ability to conceptualize things and seeking knowledge makes the human being different from the angels,” he added.
He said Pakistan takes pride in you and the government will stand by the initiatives taken by the Institute for promotion of the education in science and technology. He also stressed the need to establish replicas of this institute in other parts of the country. He said he would try his best to establish GIKI campuses in all provinces of the country.
The Prime Minister also assured extending al out cooperation in establishing the campuses of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Science and Technology in the Federal capital Islamabad and other provinces. NNI
