KOT ADDU, Jan 20 (NNI): Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressing a public gathering of the Party in Kot Addu, expressed his gratitude to the Jiyalas for coming out in huge numbers as well as the media despite the harsh weather conditions. The PPP has been campaigning all over the country since December in connection with the elections.
Chairman Bilawal said that he is the sole politician in the country who is only looking towards them and asking them for their vote. The rest of the politicians are expecting to be aided by the ‘Khalayi Makhlooq’.
Chairman Bilawal said that he is the grandson of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and has been taught that the people are the source of power. This is why, the PPP has approached the people of Pakistan to ask for their support. The country is currently going through a challenging phase, coupled with a historic economic crisis. Inflation, poverty and unemployment are increasing rapidly and the burden is being carried by the people. The threat of terrorism is again rising and our law and order situation is becoming concerning. International conspiracies are being hatched against Pakistan and all of this is being observed by the PPP. We can combat all of these crises with the help of the people.
Chairman Bilawal said that there is no reason as to why the PPP cannot help the country emerge from this plethora of crises. The PPP’s 10-point economic charter has the solutions to the problems faced by the people. Be it Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto or President Zardari, the PPP’s leadership has always represented common people, labourers, farmers and the downtrodden masses. The rest of the political parties have only ever caused harm and pain to the common people while simultaneously protecting the elite and their interests. The PPP aims to put an end to this practice, and provide relief to the poor. The 10-point agenda is met with speculation when the question of implementation arises, but Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s efforts serve as a guiding light for the Party as he fulfilled his promise of ‘Roti, Kapra Aur Makaan’ to the people.
Chairman Bilawal said that it is his promise to the people that he will strive to double their income within five years and construct three million houses for the poor while giving ownership to the women of the households. These are not tall claims or empty promises, since the PPP has already initiated this in Sindh. 300 units of electricity will be provided to the people free-of-cost, and the internationally-acclaimed Benazir Income Support Programme will be expanded so that the women of this country are provided interest-free loans and can make their contribution to the economy.
Chairman Bilawal said that his own mother was martyred, but he wishes to serve the women of Kot Addu, South Punjab, Punjab and the entire country just like a son would.
Chairman Bilawal said that the farmers of the Waseb should be apprised of the PPP’s aim to provide a ‘Benazir Kissan Card’ through which they would be financially supported by the government through subsidies directly. In the case of any catastrophe, the crops of the farmers would be insured through the ‘Benazir Kissan Card’ and the government will bear the burden, but not let it fall on the shoulders of the poor. Quaid-e-Awam had given the labourers their due rights. Now, the PPP aims to follow his footsteps by introducing the ‘Benazir Mazdoor Card’ to provide social security to the labourers all over the country.
Chairman Bilawal, while addressing the youth of the country, said that he understands the problems of the youngsters as he is from within them, which is why the PPP resolves to introduce the ‘Youth Card’. PPP’s government will support youngsters looking for employment financially for up to a year, while establishing fully-equipped youth centers with a library, internet and sports’ facilities in every district. The PPP will establish placement centers and polish the skills of the youth as a means of aiding them when it comes to attaining employment.
The PPP has made free-of-cost healthcare institutions in every district of Sindh. In Karachi, the Party has established NICVD, the largest cardiac healthcare institution in the world which treats the highest numbers of patients free-of-cost. In Khairpur, a completely free-of-cost healthcare institution has been established in the tehsil of Gambat, where ailments of the kidney, liver, lungs and the heart are treated. People from all over the country receive treatment from these institutions, be it from Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta or any other city. The PPP aims to ease the access to universities by establishing campuses in every district. The PPP government will also initiate the ‘Bhook Mitao Programme’ as no child or adult should sleep on an empty stomach. The PPP will combat all the challenges faced by the country through the 10-point agenda.
Chairman Bilawal said that the elections are taking place between two parties on February 8. The Jiyalas of the Party need to apprise the people of the importance of the vote, and how it is not to be wasted. The people have to consider whether they want a party that has come to power numerous times but has no performance to show.
Chairman Bilawal said that the perception was such that the South Punjab is the only desolate region, and Lahore would be an ideal place given the money that was spent there. However, Lahore too does not have safe and clean drinking water. The purpose behind stating all of this is to realise that we have to admit that there are challenges to be combatted, but they can all be solved unitedly. On February 8, ‘the symbol of the arrow’ needs to be stamped as it is the only symbol that can stop the ‘lion’ and hunt it. It is the sole symbol that can render the conspiracy against the country unsuccessful. This symbol represents the poor people, farmers, labourers, women and youngsters of the country. The people should decide their own future, and need to come out in huge numbers so that they can strengthen the PPP and ensure that their problems are met with solutions.
Raza Rabbani Khar, Muhammad Amjad Qureshi, Asif Khan Dasti, Riaz Manzoor, Mahr Irshad Siyal, Nawabzada Iftikhar, Zafarullah Laghari, Abdul Hussain Taggar, Chaudhary Adnan Khalid, Muhammad Jameel Shah, Mian Saleem Asghar, Khan Muhammad Jatoi, Alamdar Qureshi and Fareeha Batool are the Party’s representatives and need to be elected, Chairman Bilawal said. Bahadur Khan too is contesting from Layyah. The PPP is the only party that feels for the people, and will be triumphant on February 8.
Chairman Bilawal instructed the Party workers to go to every doorstep and apprise the people of the PPP’s 10-point agenda. NNI
