ISLAMABAD, FEB 18, (NNI): On the occasion of Chinese New Year, China Window, a Chinese cultural center established in Peshawar Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province, organized a colorful event.
Students from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s University created paintings inspired by Chinese culture, which were proudly exhibited at the center. Local singers graced the occasion, extending warm greetings to their Chinese sisters and brothers.
Distinguished personalities, including Caretaker Provincial Minister for Transport Zafarullah Khan, Caretaker Provincial Minister for Energy and Planning Dr. Syed Sarfraz Ali Shah, President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Fawad Ishaq, Chairperson of Pakistan Academy of Letters Prof. Dr. Najiba Arif, Additional Inspector General of Police Muhammad Ali Babakhail, and former world squash champion Qamar Zaman, participated in the festive gathering.
During the ceremony, the provincial ministers emphasized the eternal friendship between China and Pakistan. They highlighted the importance of sharing joys and sorrows, fostering a deep affection between the people of both nations. They regarded the celebration of Chinese New Year by the people of Pakistan as a testament to this enduring bond.
Caretaker Provincial Transport Minister Zafarullah Khan remarked that the Chinese New Year, symbolized by the Dragon, represents a year of peace and security. He offered prayers for improved relations between Pakistan and China in the coming year.
Caretaker Provincial Minister for Energy and Planning Dr. Syed Sarfraz Ali Shah, while extending New Year wishes to the people of China, expressed hope that China would continue playing a pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic development.
Fawad Ishaq affirmed that the China-Pakistan friendship grows stronger over time, rooted in eternal connections. The widespread celebration of Chinese New Year across Pakistan exemplifies this enduring friendship.
