ISLAMABAD, Feb 23 (NNI): The Anti-Corruption Wing (ACW) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has achieved remarkable milestones in its pursuit of combating corruption.

In 2023, ACW accomplished significant milestones by reclaiming properties under the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), totaling 5332 Acres, 05 Kanals, & 04 Marlas, valued at Rs. 29274 million. Notably, outstanding dues amounting to Rs. 835.998 million were also recovered from tenants.

These achievements merited Civil Awards for key officials of FIA, including the former DG FIA Mohsin Hassan Butt, ADG ACW Mr. Basharat Shehzad, and Director ACW Saqib Sultan Al Mehmood.

Building upon this momentum, in January 2024, Faisalabad Zone achieved a substantial breakthrough, successfully retrieving illegal property spanning 988 acres in Pak-Pattan District. The retrieved property, valued at Rs. 2272.4 million, was promptly handed over to ETPB authorities.

Moreover, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Cell, which operates within the ACW, showed remarkable efficiency by participating in 286 meetings held by 8 sub-committees and the main PAC.

The compliance report reveals a commendable response to a total of 58 paras, resulting in 45 inquiries, 06 cases   05 arrests, and the recovery of an impressive amount of Rs.4053.42 million. Chairman PAC expressed his written appreciation for the excellent work of FIA in his letter to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Furthermore, in FIA, New CMS software has been developed for monitoring of real time working of FIA’s circles. The new system incorporates a dashboard and statistical analysis components for performance evaluation. NNI
