TORONTO, Mar 29 (NNI): A PIA airhostess was arrested at Toronto Airport for carrying a number of passports unrelated to her.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) said that passports of allegedly unrelated persons were found in the possession of the airhostess, identified as Hina Sani, posted on flight PK-789 to Toronto.

Carrying the passports of people other than your own while travelling is considered as an international crime.

According to the report, she had previously been warned for allegedly bringing contraband into Canada.

The detained airhostess was reportedly a relative of a famous Pakistani singer and was herself a social media model.

Moreover, it was revealed that seven additional flight attendants were accompanying Hina Sani on flight PK-789, who were declared “no-flyers” by the airline for Toronto.

PIA insiders revealed that the crew received special permission from the deputy general manager (DGM) of Flight Services with his own ID, which is against the standard protocol, which raised further questions about the circumstances leading up to the incident.

Following the detention, authorities in Canada also questioned the other two airhostesses on the flight. Subsequently, they were allowed to go to their hotel after the interrogation.

Abdullah Khan, a spokesman for the PIA, confirmed that PIA administration was aware of the incident and in touch with Canadian authorities for cooperation. NNI
