ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the voters have once again rejected politics of hatred and abuses, and they have proved that they are not afraid of anyone.

Addressing the National Assembly on Saturday afternoon, Bilawal Bhutto said “People of Rahimyar Khan have buried the politics of hatred. He paid tribute to the people of South Punjab on voting to PPP candidate Tahir Rashid in by-election for National Assembly seat.”

The PPP chairman further said “I had read yesterday’s statement of Prisoner No 804 which tantamount to an attack on democracy and constitutional institutions for getting relief in personal cases.” He said if the PTI founder had given that statement he would bear the outcome, and if not then his party must explain it.

PPP Chairman expressed strong disapproval of PTI Founder Imran Khan’s alleged statements targeting Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir and Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa cautioning that such actions would have serious consequences.

Turning his attention to Imran Khan, Bilawal alleged that the deposed premier had attacked constitutional institutions to further his political interests.

“Prisoner number 804 has attacked every institution in the country to secure personal relief,” Bilawal said, referencing Khan’s criticism of the judiciary and military leadership.

PPP’s Bilawal warned that if the PTI founder’s alleged statement was authentic, the consequences would follow, as mandated by the constitution. He urged PTI leadership to clarify whether the statement came from Khan or was the work of someone else within the party.

“Imran Khan and his party will be responsible for the consequences if the statement is proven to be his,” Bilawal stressed, adding that the democratic system would withstand such challenges. NNI
