KARACHI, Oct 09 (NNI): Remittances from Pakistani expatriates recorded 29 percent increase during the month of September 2024, according to data released by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Wednesday.
The SBP data revealed that overseas Pakistan sent home $2.8 billion during the month of September 2024.
The data showed that the SBP received $8.8 billion during first quarter (IQ) of current fiscal year (FY), while 38.80 percent surge in remittances were recorded during the same period previous fiscal year.
Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia sent home $68.13 million, while $56 million were sent by Pakistanis from United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The State Bank further said that overseas Pakistanis remitted $42.36 million from United Kingdom (UK) and $27.49 from United States of America (USA). NNI
