LAHORE, Oct 13 (NNI): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) vice emir Liaquat Baloch said Sunday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should postpone its call for a protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad on October 15.

In a statement, he said that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit is an honour for the entire nation, not the government or the party.

He also said the government should accept PTI’s demand for a meeting with the party founder, Imran Khan. “If it is the government’s decision to amend the Constitution, it has not made preparations for it,” he pointed out.

The JI vice emir also said that the visit of the Saudi delegation is a message of strong friendship with Pakistan. He also vehemently condemned the terrorist attack near Karachi Airport, which claimed the lives of Chinese nationals, adding that the people of Pakistan express solidarity with China.

Meanwhile, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Mustafa Kamal said Sunday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for a protest in Islamabad on October 15 is not in the national interest.

During a press conference in Karachi, Mustafa Kamal said that the enemy does not want stability in Pakistan.

While referring to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, he said that delegations are coming from friendly countries to invest in Pakistan, adding, “Everyone has the right to protest, but it is wrong to spoil the name of the country for vested interests.”

He also said that everyone knows the challenges of Pakistan, adding, “We are breathing in peace only because the country and institutions are there.” He said that PTI created instability in the name of political campaign, adding that the PTI founder is directly targeting institutions of the country.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have agreed to postpone the call for a protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad on October 15, provided that they are allowed to meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

PTI leader Sheikh Waqas Akram said Sunday that the party is ready to take back its call for the protest if the government allows him and other party leaders to meet Imran Khan.

The PTI leader also said to the government that it will be responsible if any loss of life or property occurs during the protest. NNI
