KARACHI, Dec 18 (NNI): Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah has strongly opposed the recent increase in gas prices, labelling the decision as unjustifiable and detrimental to citizens already burdened by inflation.

Speaking on the issue, Shah stated that the federal government should consult with provinces before implementing such decisions, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.

He highlighted that gas prices have already risen by 200%, and an additional 25.78% increase would be an undue burden on the public.

Shah urged the federal government to reconsider the decision and called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take immediate notice of OGRA’s move.

Nasir Shah also demanded representation for provinces in OGRA to ensure equitable decision-making.

He emphasised that the Sindh government would not support any unilateral measures that exacerbate economic hardships for the people. NNI
