ISLAMABAD, Mar 08 (NNI): Islamabad capital police Robbery and Dacoity Unit (RDU) police team apprehended two female members of a thieves gang involved in numerous criminal activities and recovered gold ornaments and foreign currency worth Rs 2.55 million from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements involved in different criminal activities in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives the Robbery and Dacoity Unit (RDU) police team used technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending two female members of a thieves gang involved in looting houses in the guise of house maids.
The Police team also recovered gold ornaments and foreign currency worth Rs 2.55 million from their possession. The accused were identified as Nahid alais Nado and Shamshad.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to being involved in numerous house burglaries activities in Koral and Golra police station Jurisdiction. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway.
CPO/ DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari has appreciated the performance of the police team who arrested these thieves. He has appealed to the citizens to verify the bio-data of domestic servants before employing them. NNI
