ISLAMABAD, Jan 30 (NNI): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have appreciated the officers and jawans of the security forces for killing six Khwarij in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

In their separate messages on Thursday, they paid homage to Major Hamza Israr and Sepoy Muhammad Naeem who embraced martyrdom while valiantly confronting the Khawarij terrorists during the operation.

Praising their bravery, they expressed heartfelt grief over the martyrdom of the two valiant sons of the soil.

According to the President and the Prime Minister’s Offices news releases, both the leaders also expressed sympathies with the families of martyrs and prayed for patience to bear the loss.

The president reiterated the national resolve to completely eliminate Fitna-ul-Khawarij.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prayed for the high ranks of the martyrs and patience for their bereaved families.

“We will not let the great sacrifices of the sons of the nation go in vain and will destroy the nefarious intentions of anti-state elements,” the prime minister said.

The Prime Minister vowed that great sacrifices rendered by sons of the land would not go waste and hideous designs of the anti-state elements would be crushed.

Shehbaz Sharif reiterated security forces are fully active for complete elimination of terrorism from the country.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), two army personnel, including a major, were martyred during a gun battle with terrorists in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali area on the night between January 29 and 30 as part of an intelligence-based operation.

The ISPR confirmed the incident on Thursday, stating that security forces were conducting the operation when they engaged a terrorist stronghold, resulting in the death of six terrorists, referred to as “khwarij” by the military.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Major Hamza Israr, 29, a resident of Rawalpindi, and Sepoy Muhammad Naeem, 26, from Naseerabad.

The ISPR highlighted Major Israr’s leadership, noting that he was at the forefront of the operation, directing his troops with bravery. Sepoy Naeem also displayed immense courage, ultimately paying the ultimate sacrifice.

In response to the gun battle, security forces have launched a sanitisation operation in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists. The operation is part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorism and ensure the safety of its citizens.

The ISPR’s statement reiterated that the sacrifices of soldiers like Major Israr and Sepoy Naeem further solidify the country’s resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism. NNI
