ISLAMABAD, Feb 01 (NNI): President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi Saturday paid tribute to the eighteen security personnel who embraced martyrdom during the terrorist attack in Kalat, Balochistan.
In their separate messages, they praised the bravery of the security personnel who fought gallantly and killed twelve terrorists during the attack.
Condemning the terrorist attack, they said these terrorist elements want to disrupt peace in Balochistan. However, our brave security forces will continue such operations to suppress anti-state elements.
Praying for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for patience for their families, they affirmed that the entire nation stands with its security forces in the war against terrorism.
In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari has commended the bravery of security forces for successfully neutralizing 23 terrorists during operations in different areas of Balochistan, including Kalat and Harnai, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
The president said that the operations against terrorists would continue till their complete eradication, adding their resolve to eliminate terrorist elements and defend the country would remain firm. He also expressed the commitment to completely eradicate the menace of terrorism.
Appreciating the security forces for carrying out successful action against terrorists in Harnai, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif lauded the professional skills of the security forces who killed 11 terrorists. Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for foiling attempts aimed at ruining peace in Balochistan.
He said, “Nefarious designs of Balochistan peace enemies will not be allowed to succeed.
Those who spread extremism in Balochistan are actually the enemy of Balochistan’s development and prosperity.” He further said that the government would continue all possible efforts for the progress of Balochistan. He said that Pak Army’s resolve to keep innocent people of Balochistan safe from terrorists was commendable.
In a separate message, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has paid a glowing tribute to the 18 soldiers of FC Balochistan who embraced martyrdom while courageously confronting terrorists in Kalat.
He said that the brave sons of FC Balochistan sacrificed their lives for the peace of the country, and the nation takes pride in the bravery of the martyred soldiers. The martyrs are the heroes of the nation.
He further stated that the 18 brave sons of the nation have achieved eternal glory by sacrificing their lives for the homeland and have attained the exalted status of martyrdom. The nation salutes their immense sacrifice. He made it clear that the nation stands with the families of the martyrs.
He emphasized that the nation deeply values the sacrifices of the security forces in the war against terrorism. He expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs.
The Interior Minister also praised the security forces for eliminating 23 terrorists in Mangochar. Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces for bringing the 23 terrorists to a humiliating end. He stated that the security forces have thwarted the nefarious designs of the terrorists. He further added that the nation stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the security forces.
Earlier, eighteen brave soldiers of Pakistan Army were martyred while 23 terrorists were also sent to hell during fierce clashes in Balochistan district of Kalat and Harnai.
The terrorists were trying to block the main roads in Mangocher area of Kalat between the night of January 31 and February 1. The security forces personnel challenged them which led to fierce exchange of fire which lasted for hours.
Resultantly, 18 brave sons of the soil who fought gallantly embraced martyrdom in the clashes while 12 terrorists were also killed.
According to the ISPR statement, the terrorists attempted to establish roadblocks in general area Mangocher, Kalat District of Balochistan.
On behest of inimical and hostile forces, this cowardly act of terrorism was aimed at disrupting the peaceful environment of Balochistan by targeting mainly the innocent civilians.
Security Forces and law enforcement agencies were immediately mobilized, who successfully thwarted the evil design of terrorists and sent 12 terrorists to hell, ensuring security and protection of the local populace.
However, during the conduct of operations, 18 brave sons of soil, having fought gallantly, made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat.
Ensuing sanitization operations were being conducted and the perpetrators, facilitators and abettors of this heinous and cowardly act, will be brought to justice.
Later, in the backdrop of heinous act of terrorism in Kalat District, multiple sanitization operations were conducted by the security forces throughout the province.
On 1 February, 2025, in one of such operations conducted in Harnai District, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists as a result of which 11 terrorists were sent to hell. Multiple terrorist hideouts were also busted.
Thus far total of 23 terrorists have been sent to hell in different operations in Balochistan during the last 24 hours.
Security forces of Pakistan in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve. NNI
