LAHORE (NNI): Members of the Punjab Assembly met with Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Members of the Punjab Assembly from Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara and Pakpattan districts were among those who met with both leaders.
Talking on the occasion, Nawaz Sharif said that the decline has turned into progress and the improvement in economic indicators is the improvement of Pakistan.
They are once again improving Pakistan by improving the economy and economic activities are increasing due to the reduction in the policy rate from 22 to 12 percent which benefiting the economy.
The rupee has stabilized and growth is increasing and the stock exchange is at its highest level and inflation is decreasing, Nawaz Sharif said. He said a person who came with dishonesty had shaken the foundations of the country.
Nawaz Sharif said Shehbaz Sharif’s hard work is paying off and IMF has also acknowledged economic recovery and Pakistan’s progress towards development.
The PML-N has once again proven that we are the ones who serve the country and provide relief to the people, Nawaz Sharif said.
The MPAs said on the occasion that we are proud that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif are our leaders who suffered wounds but always prioritized the interests of the state over politics.
Assembly members said having a thoughtful and hardworking Chief Minister like Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab and we are lucky and for the first time, dormant departments have also been put to work.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, as Chief Minister, has the tradition of development has been made a new example. Pakistan and Punjab are developing and the people are seeing change, they said.
Talking on the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the improvement in the lives of the people is the result of our hard work.
The meeting also discussed public welfare projects and future political strategies.
Senior party leaders Senator Pervez Rashid, Rana Sanaullah, Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and Rashid Nasrullah were also present in the meeting. NNI

Narcotics Control ministry abolished
ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (NNI): The Pakistan government has abolished the Narcotics Control ministry on Wednesday.
The move has been taken under the right-sizing policy of the incumbent government to save extra expenditures.
According to the notification, the Narcotics Control ministry has been abolished and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has been given under the control of Interior ministry.
After merger, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) will function under the interior ministry and the ministry will be renamed as Ministry of Interior and Anti-Narcotics.
The name of interior ministry and anti-narcotics will be used in all official documents.
The federal government already made some amendments in its Rules of Business 1973 in this regard.
The move is a part of the government’s drive of right-sizing under some ministries and departments will be abolished and merged into others.
Earlier in July, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stressed the importance of rightsizing Pakistan’s fight five ministries, including Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, SAFRON, Industries and Production, IT and Telecom and Health have been short-listed in this regard.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will take the final decision to this effect.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said reforms were being done in the FBR. He said that putting less burden on lower income class is the government’s top priority. NNI
