KASUR, Feb 21 (NNI): At least eight people including six members of the same family were perished and two others injured when a mini-van they were travelling in plunged into a nullah in Kasur in the wee hours of Friday.
The victims were returning from a wedding function when their vehicle met the mishap on Raiwind Road near Khara Chowk as the driver fell asleep.
Rescue 1122 and police team rushed to the accident site and shifted the bodies and the wounded to Bulleh Shah District Hospital. The hospital sources said that two of the injured are in critical condition.
Eight passengers including a woman died on the spot.
The rescue officials stated that driver of the unfortunate van was sleepy which resulted in the horrific accident. The injured and dead bodies have been rushed to the district hospital.
The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Laiba, 35-year-old Imran, 38-year-old Suleman, 25-year-old Sunny, 35-year-old Maqsood and two unnamed persons. NNI
