ISLAMABAD, Feb 26 (NNI): The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is set to visit Islamabad for a one-day tour on Thursday, the Foreign Office said Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson in Islamabad on Wednesday, the visit is being conducted at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

The Crown Prince will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Ministers and senior officials, as well as prominent business leaders.

This visit underscores the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and reflects the shared commitment to further strengthen bilateral economic partnership.

During the visit, the Crown Prince will engage in wide-ranging interactions with the leadership of Pakistan, to exchange views on matters of mutual interest, reinforce historical bonds and promote economic as well as investment cooperation.

Several agreements and Memorandums of Understandings will be signed during the visit to bolster existing robust framework for long-term collaboration in multifaceted sectors.

These commitments are expected to open new opportunities for joint ventures and projects aimed at furthering economic cooperation between both the countries and their peoples.

Pakistan and the UAE have always enjoyed a relationship characterized by mutual respect, trust, and shared aspirations.

During his visit, Sheikh Khaled will be conferred with Pakistan’s highest civilian award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan, at a special ceremony.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement said that the visit of Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan demonstrates commitment of two countries to elevate the mutual cooperation, reflective of growing partnership and robust people to people linkages.

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed serves as a member of Abu Dhabi’s Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs and sits on the board of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

He is also a board member of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and has previously held key roles in national security, including as Deputy National Security Adviser.

In March 2023, Sheikh Khaled was appointed Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. His visit to Pakistan is seen as a significant step towards fostering economic, trade, and investment ties between the two nations. NNI
