ISLAMABAD, Jul 15 (NNI): A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Saturday accepted bail application of former foreign minister and PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the May 9 vandalism case.

Additional Sessions Judge Syed Muhammad Haroon Shah heard the May 9 mayhem case registered against the PTI vice chairman in the Khana police station in Islamabad.

During hearing, Qureshi’s lawyer Ali Bukhari completed his arguments. However, the court also announced a break in the case hearing till the arrival of the public prosecutor.

Later, Qureshi appeared before the court and completed his attendance.

The lawyer told the court that Qureshi was accused of instigating the violent protest. But the PTI VC was neither present at the scene nor gave any statement. The police tried to implicate Qureshi without any evidence, the lawyer argued.

After hearing Bukhari, the judge confirmed the bail of Qureshi in the case. NNI
