ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (NNI): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong Wednesday called on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar in Islamabad.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral cooperation and reiterated the commitment to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.

Hina Rabbani Khar thanked the Chinese Ambassador for China’s prompt and generous flood assistance for the affected people of Pakistan, who have been badly affected by the devastated floods.

She said that Pakistan is in a strategic alliance with China and was “unapologetically close” to it. She emphasized the tight strategic connections between Islamabad and Beijing and remembered the national political consensus on the subject.

The Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong has described relations between Pakistan and China as unbreakable. He said that CPEC had changed Pakistan’s socioeconomic environment by updating infrastructure and resolving the energy issue.

Both the dignitaries also discussed global as well as regional issues of mutual interest. NNI
