LAHORE (NNI): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Sunday imposed a ban on the dumping of animals’ hides in canals and nullahs after their slaughter on Eid day as well as on the following days.

Chairing a meeting in Lahore, convened to discuss security and other arrangements made in connection with the occasion, the chief minister announced the imposition of section 144 so that people could be deterred from throwing animal waste.

She also ordered making control rooms set up at provincial, divisional, district and tehsil levels functional.

The meeting was briefed that in Lahore the concerned staff would go door to door to lift and stuff hides into bags.

It was informed that the city roads would be washed after the faithful were done with slaughter of animals.

The meeting was told that 294 points for sale of animals had been set up across Punjab.

On the occasion, a report was presented to the CM on the security arrangements made at 2,600 mosques and 900 Eidgahs in the province.

The chief minister stressed the need for making foolproof security arrangements.

She also directed that fans should be arranged at Eidgahs so that the faithful could be protected from extreme heat.

Besides that, she ordered the inspection of swings installed for children at parks. NNI
