ISLAMABAD, July 31 (NNI): Expressing deep grief and shock over the loss of lives in incidents of violence that took place in Kurram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday said that there was a need to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to prevent such incidents from happening in future.

Speaking to the delegation of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) from Kurram, which, led by the party’s MNA Hameed Hussain, called on him in Islamabad, he prayed to the Almighty Allah for the speedy recovery of those injured in these incidents.

Naqvi regretted that the exact reason for the clash between two groups was not reported.

He called upon the elders of the area to play their roles in ensuring a durable solution to incidents like these.

The minister assured the delegation that the government would provide every possible assistance so that the dispute between the two groups could be resolved.

He stressed the need for everybody in the area to play his role in ensuring peace and inter-sectarian harmony in the area.

Naqvi, on the occasion, also invited notables from both groups to a meeting in order to settle their differences.

Those who called on the interior minister were Muneer Hussain, Professor Shabbir Bangash, Muhammad Shabbir Bangash, Rahim Gul and Haji Noor Rehman.

Interior Secretary Khurram Ali Agha was also present on the occasion. NNI
