LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a reward of Rs100 million for Arshad Nadeem for winning gold medal in Olympics games.

In a statement released on Friday, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that ahead of the Independence Day Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal and gave a gift to the nation,

Chief Minister Maryam further said that on behalf of the nation, we are thanking Arshad Nadeem by awarding him.

Maryam Nawaz also announced the construction of a sports city named as Arshad Nadeem Sports City in Mian Channu.

Arshad Nadeem defied all odds to win a gold medal for Pakistan after 40 years, the chief minister said.

Making a new record in the Olympics is proof of Arshad Nadeem’s hard work, dedication and national spirit, Chief Minister further said.

She prayed, May Allah exalt every son and daughter who raise the flag of Pakistan in the world.
