ISLAMABAD, Nov 14 (NNI): A hearing was held in the Islamabad High Court regarding a petition seeking details of the cases filed against the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). During the proceedings, the Federal Police informed the court that a total of 62 cases have been registered against the PTI founder in Islamabad.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) also reported that it has registered seven FIRs against him.
The Islamabad Police requested additional time to submit a detailed report on the cases, as they had only received the court’s notice the evening before. This request was met with frustration from Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, who reprimanded the police, stating, “It is the mistake of your office. We had already issued a notice two days ago.”
In response, the DSP Legal of Islamabad Police mentioned that an interim report could be submitted immediately, but a final report would take more time. However, Justice Arbab rejected the interim report, instructing that a comprehensive and detailed report be submitted by the following day.
The FIA’s report confirmed that no inquiry was pending in the Deputy Commissioner’s office, while the Islamabad Police confirmed that a total of 62 cases had been filed. DSP Sajid Cheema requested an extension until Monday, but Justice Arbab questioned the large number of cases, prompting further investigation.
The Islamabad High Court adjourned the case, setting the next hearing for November 18, where a detailed report on all the cases is expected to be presented. NNI
