RAWALPINDI, Dec 26 (NNI): The Military Courts convicted 60 more suspects including Hassan Niazi, the nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in cases pertaining to May 9 violence, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

“Sequel to the announcement of the May 9 punishments in light of the Supreme Court’s decision, the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) has promulgated the punishments to the following remaining 60 culprits after examining all evidences, ensuring the provision of all legal rights to the convicts, completion of due process and the appropriate legal proceedings,” the ISPR said in a statement.

According to the military’s media wing Hassan Niazi, son of Hafizullah Niazi has been awarded 10-year rigorous imprisonment in the Jinnah House attack.

AS per ISPR, the 60 culprits sentenced by the military court are including: 1. Hassan Khan Niazi, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 10 years in prison with rigorous labour; 2. Mian Ibad Farooq, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to two years in prison with rigorous labour; 3. Raees Ahmed, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to six years in prison with rigorous labour; 4. Arzam Junaid, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to six years in prison with rigorous labour; 5. Ali Raza, involved in the Jinnah House attack, sentenced to six years in prison with rigorous labour; 6. Raja Danish, involved in the GHQ attack, sentenced to four years in prison with rigorous labour; 7. Syed Hassan Shah, involved in the GHQ attack, sentenced to 9 years in prison with rigorous labour; 8. Ali Hussain son of Khalilur Rehman, involved in the attack on AIMH Rawalpindi, sentenced to 7 years in prison with rigorous labour; 9. Zahid Khan son of Muhammad Nabi, involved in the attack on Punjab Regiment Center Mardan, sentenced to 2 years in prison with rigorous labour; 10. Sohrab Khan, son of Riaz Khan, involved in the attack on the headquarters of Dir Counts, Timergara, sentenced to 4 years in prison with rigorous labour; 11. Brigadier (retd) Javed Akram, son of Chaudhry Muhammad Akram, involved in the attack on Jinnah House, sentenced to 6 years in prison with rigorous labour; 12. Khurram Liaquat, son of Liaquat Ali Shahid, involved in the attack on Multan Cantt Check Post, sentenced to 4 years in prison with rigorous labour; 13. Zakir Hussain, son of Shah Faisal, involved in the attack on Qala Chakdara, sentenced to 7 years in prison with rigorous labour; 14. Amin Shah, son of Mushtar Khan, involved in the attack on Bannu Cantt, sentenced to 9 years in prison with rigorous labour; 15. Faheem Sajid, son of Muhammad Khan, involved in the attack on PF Base Mianwali, sentenced to 8 years in prison with rigorous labour; 16. Hamza Sharif, son of Muhammad Azam, involved in the attack on the Faisalabad ISI office, sentenced to 2 years in prison with rigorous labour; 17. Muhammad Arsalan, son of Muhammad Siraj, involved in the attack on Jinnah House, sentenced to 7 years in prison with rigorous labour; 18. Muhammad Umair son of Abdul Sattar, involved in Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 6 years in prison with rigorous labour; 19. Noman Shah son of Mahmood Ahmed Shah, involved in Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 4 years in prison with rigorous labour; 20. Saqlain Haider son of Rafiullah Khan, involved in the Bannu Cantt attack, sentenced to 9 years in prison; 46. Hamid Ali son of Syed Hadi Shah, involved in the Multan Cantt check post attack, sentenced to 3 years in prison; 48. Muhammad Waqas son of Malik Muhammad Kaleem, involved in the Rahwali Gate Gujranwala Cantt attack, sentenced to 2 years in prison; 49. Izzat Gul son of Mirdad Khan, involved in the Bannu Cantt attack, sentenced to 9 years in prison; 50. Haider Majeed son of Muhammad Majeed, involved in Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 2 years in prison with rigorous labour; 51. Group Captain Waqas Ahmed Mohsin (retd) son of Bashir Ahmed Mohsin, involved in Jinnah House attack, sentenced to 2 years in prison with rigorous labour; 52. Muhammad Ilyas son of Muhammad Fazal Haleem, involved in Headquarters Dir Scouts, Timar Garha attack, sentenced to 2 years in prison with rigorous labour; 53. Muhammad Ayaz son of Sahibzada Khan, involved in Gate FC Cantt Peshawar attack, sentenced to 2 years in prison with rigorous labour; 54. Raees Ahmed son of Khasta Rehman, involved in Chakdara Fort attack, sentenced to 4 years in prison with rigorous labour; 55. Gohar Rehman son of Gul Rehman, involved in Chakdara Fort attack, sentenced to 7 years in prison with rigorous labour; 56. Naik Muhammad son of Nasrullah Jan, involved in Bannu Cantt attack, sentenced to 9 years in prison with rigorous labour; 57. Fahad Imran son of Muhammad Imran Shahid, involved in Faisalabad ISI office attack, sentenced to 9 years in prison with rigorous labour; 58. Sufyan Idrees son of Idrees Ahmed, involved in the Rahwali Gate Gujranwala Cantt attack, sentenced to 2 years in prison with rigorous labour; 59. Rahimullah son of Bayatullah, involved in the Bannu Cantt attack, sentenced to 9 years in prison with rigorous labour; and 60. Khalid Nawaz son of Hamid Khan, involved in the Bannu Cantt attack, sentenced to 9 years in prison with rigorous labour.

The ISPR said that the trial of 9th May accused under military custody, has been concluded under the relevant laws and all convicts retain the right to appeal and other legal recourses, as guaranteed by the Constitution and law.

“The Nation, Government, and the Armed Forces remain steadfast in their commitment to upholding justice and ensuring that the inviolable writ of the state is maintained,” the ISPR’s statement read. NNI
