ISLAMABAD, Sep 04 (NNI): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has called an urgent meeting on the economic and energy situation in the country.
In the meeting, there will be a consultation regarding the economic situation and the progress on the energy issue, official sources said.
The finance minister will brief the meeting on the IMF negotiations and proposals. The energy minister will give a briefing on the issue of power policy and electricity bills.
The meeting will also be briefed about the rising prices of sugar in the country. The officers concerned will attend the meeting.
Earlier, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has directed the Finance Minister to formulate an effective strategy to stabilize the country’s economy.
He gave the direction while talking to caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar in Islamabad today.
Dr Shamshad Akhtar briefed the Prime Minister on the current economic situation of the country. NNI
