LAHORE, Nov 25 (NNI): A fresh petition has been filed in the Lahore High
Court seeking the removal of the Caretaker Prime Minister following the
completion of his constitutional term.
According to sources, Advocate Muhammad Mushtaq Saleem submitted the
petition, contending that after the expiration of the stipulated term,
the continued tenure of the caretaker prime minister has become
ineffective.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Caretaker Prime Minister
Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, and others are named as respondents in the petition.
The lawyer contended that the legal tenure of the Caretaker Prime
Minister’s tenure expired on November 15.
The petitioner also noted that neither the Election Commission nor any
constitutional court has granted an extension to Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar’s
tenure after November 15.
The petitioner underscored the constitutional irregularity in the
continuation of Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar’s role as the Caretaker Prime
Minister.
The plea emphasized that Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, as per constitutional
norms, should no longer serve as the Caretaker PM.
The court is requested to issue an order for the removal of the
Caretaker Prime Minister. NNI
