PESHAWAR, Oct 04 (NNI): Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday granted protective bail to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur.

As per details, the plea was heard by a two-member bench of Peshawar High Court comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Waqar Ahmed and approved the one-month plea of Ali Amin.

Earlier today, Gandapur moved Peshawar High Court for transit bail in cases registered against him in Islamabad.

CM Gandapur stated in his plea that he want to appear before the court but he might get arrested before his appearance at the court. He urged the court to fix the plea for hearing today and approve his transit bail in order to appear before the court.

Earlier, an Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Ali Amin Gandapur in a case registered at Police Station I-9 under terrorism sections.

The court rejected Gandapur’s pre-arrest bail application and ordered him to appear before the court.

Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zuhor Hasan, appeared in court and requested an exemption from his appearance, which the court denied. The prosecutor argued that Gandapur had consistently violated the law, and the court took notice of his conduct.

Meanwhile, brushing aside the heightened threat of arrest of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers by the government, Khber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Friday vowed to reach Islamabad’s D-Chowk for lodging the protest at all costs.

Speaking to media before his departure to Islamabad, the CM said that workers would reach the location of the protest despite all odds stacked against them.

“I urge all workers to arrive at D-Chowk for ‘Haqeeqi Azadi’. We will continue to fight for the protection of constitution and continue to strive for the restoration constitution,” he maintained.

Gandapur emphasized that the orders of PTI founder Imran Khan are a red line for him, adding that he has no authority to call off the protest. “There is no need to contact me about postponing the protest,” he said.

“Until the Quaid (Imran Khan) commands otherwise, I will keep moving forward, even if I am left to march alone,” he said.

In a separate statement, the KP government’s Spokesperson, Barrister Dr Saif, alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government is planning to use violence against their peaceful protest through its ‘Gullu Butts’ [thugs).  “Yesterday, notorious Punjab police fired shots and used tear gas shells against our people,” he said.

Dr Saif accused the PML-N of destroying democracy, stating that the ruling party has become a symbol of fascism and oppression.

He slammed the PML-N government for becoming a symbol of oppression and fascism. He warned against using violent means to stop the PTI workers.

He warned the Punjab police to remain within their constitutional limits, otherwise, they would face severe legal consequences. “Do not mistake peaceful protesters for being weak, because we know how to respond with force if necessary,” he cautioned.

He added that he knew that from where the strings of the PML-N and Punjab police were being pulled.

“The nation is well aware of who is pulling the strings behind the ruling Nawaz League, and attempts to misrepresent our peaceful protest will fail,” Barrister Saif remarked. NNI
