LAHORE, Jan 04 (NNI): Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari assailed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for not visiting Kurram in two months.

Expressing her thoughts, Bokhari said, “The writ of the KP government in the province has ended. The attack on the deputy commissioner despite the Kurram agreement is condemnable.”

The focus of the KPK government is more on the prisoner in Adiala Jail than the province itself.

“There are some forces who do not want to see the restoration of peace in Kurram. The provincial government is focusing more on the prisoner of the Adiala jail rather than concentrating on the uplift of the province,” maintained Bokhari.

She added that while Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is concerned about the brothers and sisters in Parachinar.

The Information Minister also mentioned that certain forces do not want peace to be established in Kurram.

She took a jibe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “The PTI has been ruling the KP for the last 12 years. The standard of living of the KP people has fallen down in the past 12 years.”

“The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been in power in KPK for 12 years, and during this period, the living standards of the people in the province have further declined,” she maintained.

“The KP is facing the problems in connection with the law and order, terrorism, and unemployment,” she added.

She emphasized that law and order, terrorism, and unemployment are the basic issues in KPK.

Bokhari said: “The PTI has given the Pashtuns nothing with the exception of a sense of deprivation.”

Azma Bokhari has said that the KPK government has completely lost its authority in the province.

The comments from Azma Bukhari came after, violence flared out in the restive region once more on Saturday, as Kurram Deputy Commissioner (DC) Javedullah Mehsud sustained injuries in a firing incident.

According to local administration, the deputy commissioner’s vehicle came under attack in in the Bagan area of Lower Kurram. The deputy commissioner was rushed to Lower Alizai Hospital for treatment where his condition is said to stable.

DC Javedullah Mehsud is among those who played a significant part in attempts to bring calm back to the area.

It is to be noted here that the first convoy carrying supplies for Kurram is being transported to the region. The convoy, which includes food and other essential goods, is being be protected by security personnel, including the police, to ensure safety. NNI
