ISLAMABAD, Feb 20 (NNI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday gave important instructions to the Ministry of Information Technology regarding the Ramadan Relief Package.
Sources said that a short code 9999 would be used for the package.
The ministry would use the code for the confirmation of messages related to the package, sources said, adding that the ministry had also been tasked with matching the identity cards with the cellphone numbers of the applicants.
Apart from that, a control room would be set up in the NTC for the purpose, they informed.
The prime minister has already issued instructions to present the package at the federal cabinet meeting for discussions, sources informed.
They elaborated that under the package, the total budget of which had been estimated at over Rs20 billion, there was a proposal to hand cash to 3.9 million families.
This time, utility stores would not be used for the package. NNI
