ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (NNI): A report of the attorney general on the facilities being provided to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in Attock Jail has come to the fore.

According to the report submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the PTI chairman has been placed in the most secure and high observation block, and the adjoining barracks have been kept vacant.

The 9×11 barrack, in which the PTI chairman has been placed, is whitewashed and also has a paved floor and a fan.

The wall of the PTI chairman’s washroom is six feet high, and the size of the washroom is 4×7.

On August 18, the washroom of the cell was repaired, and its wall was built five feet higher.

A wash basin has been installed outside the washroom for ablution.

Being a better-class prisoner, Imran Khan has also been provided with a mattress, air conditioner, four pillows and a table and chair.

He has also been provided with four Quranic English translations and 25 books on history.

Imran Khan has the facility of a 21-inch TV, and he is also provided with a daily newspaper.

The PTI chairman has been given the staff to clean his barrack, washroom and clothes.

54 personnel have been deployed in the jail for the security of the PTI chairman.

According to the law, his family can meet him for two to three hours on Tuesday while his lawyers can hold a two- to three-hour meeting with him on Wednesday.

From August 7 to August 23, Imran Khan’s wife and his lawyers met him in the jail three times each.

Imran Khan’s lawyers including Naeem Haider Panjutha, Umair Khan Niazi, Babar Awan and Latif Khosa met him in jail.

A team of five doctors examined the PTI chairman.

He is provided with bread, omelette, curd and tea for breakfast. He is provided with fresh fruits, vegetables, pulses and rice as per the jail menu for day and night meals.

Meals are provided to the PTI chairman in consultation with him. On his request, Imran Khan is provided with desi chicken twice a week and mutton cooked in desi ghee once a week.

The jail administration is providing the best facilities and security to Imran Khan. His cell is open for air from the rear side, and three cameras have been installed to check his and the staff’s movement.

Two wireless phones have been given to the staff on duty. Currently, there are 982 prisoners in the Attock Jail.

It is to be noted here that the attorney general had submitted the report on the facilities being provided to Imran Khan to the chambers of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Atta Bandial, Justice Mazahir Aki Akbar Naqvi and Justice Jamal Mandokhail.

The Supreme Court on August 24 sought a report on the facilities being provided to the PTI chairman in the jail. NNI
