ISLAMABAD (NNI): International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted continued slide in inflation in Pakistan during the next five years.

The IMF stated that inflation rate in Pakistan will reach 9.5 percent during current fiscal year, while Pakistan assigned target of 12 percent inflation which is in double digit in Pakistan.

According to IMF, inflation rate will reach 7.8 percent in fiscal year 2025-26 while in fiscal year 2026-27, the inflation rate will drop further to touch 6.5 percent.

IMF said that during fiscal year 2027-28 and fiscal year 2028-29 inflation rate in Pakistan will remain at 7.5 percent.

During previous fiscal year Pakistan witnessed 23.4 percent inflation while in August 2024 Pakistan recorded 6.64 single digit inflation after a period of three years.

In September 2024, Pakistan witnessed 6.93 percent inflation which his lowest in last previous year. NNI
