QUETTA, Nov 13 (NNI): The re-polling scheduled for 16 polling stations in Quetta’s PB-44 constituency has been postponed from November 21 to December 12 due to security concerns raised by the Balochistan government on Wednesday.
The Election Tribunal had previously ordered re-polling in these stations, citing allegations of electoral fraud.
Initially, the Election Commission set the date for November 21, but after the government’s request for additional security measures, the date was deferred.
In another development, the re-polling date for PB-8 Sibi has also been changed, moving from November 14 to November 17, as per a new notification.
According to government sources, there are concerns that the ruling administration might lose in the re-polling, with allegations suggesting that the government is attempting to delay the re-polling on four key assembly seats.
These vacant seats in the Balochistan Assembly include two in Quetta, one in Kalat, and one in Hub. NNI
