LAHORE, May 25 (NNI): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz welcomed the UAE’s US$10 billion investment, following successful talks between the Pakistani delegation and UAE authorities aimed at boosting foreign investment in Pakistan.
In her message on Saturday, the CM said the pledge of US$10 billion investment is an undeniable proof of external confidence in the PML-N government.
The chief minister said positive economic indicators augur well for a better economic future of Pakistan, adding that the Pakistan stock market is setting new records day by day. “This positive trend in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) 100 index is welcome,” she added.
Expressing her thoughts, she said: “The positive trend in the stock market indicates a better future for the government, with foreign investors showing confidence in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led government.”
The chief minister said that the government is focused on giving maximum relief to people by bringing down inflation, adding that inflation will decrease and Pakistani currency would stabilize. “The price of food items, including bread, will further decrease,” she mentioned.
The CM said that the PML-N government enjoys trust and confidence of businessmen, industrialists and investors, highlighting that the efforts of PM Shehbaz government for foreign direct investment in Pakistan are commendable.
She vowed that Pakistan will regain its lost position under the PML-N government. “May Allah Almighty protect Pakistan from the evil elements that hinder its development” she prayed.
“We welcome the announcement of a $10 billion investment by the UAE,” she said. She was optimistic that “good days” were coming for Pakistan and its people. Few days back, CM Maryam rolled out the “Clinics on Wheels” project.
Addressing an event in Lahore, CM Maryam stated: “The initiatives taken by Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz were sabotaged by the previous government. It takes up to three months to organise the new government.” “It is Nawaz Sharif who gets pleased with the launch of every project,” she added.
Speaking about the “Clinics on Wheels” projects, CM Maryam said: “It is not about the vehicle but the entire clinic, which will reach outside the doorsteps of the masses.”
She maintained: “The vehicle will be available in the underprivileged areas for six days, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The pregnant women will be given complete facilities in the ambulance.”
CM Maryam vowed to increase the doctors and paramedic staff. “Now doctors from every district will be given priority in terms of recruitment,” she said.
“We are rolling out cardiology centres in eight districts, including Mianwali, Sialkot, Jehlum, and Layyah. I would like to ask the health secretary to roll out the free insulin project,” she said. NNI
